Google Drive

When Google Drive came out a few months ago I know I had to try it, I’m a techie, I just have too. At first I was not excited, it just didn’t seems like something that I would like. After all I had dropbox. Why would I need anything else. I thought Dropbox was the best, I still use Dropbox but not near as much as I used to, it’s great, and it still is.

Google Drive and Google Docs

What I didn’t realize was that Google integrated Google Drive and Google Docs. Now the functions in either of these products alone are wonderful, but when you combine the two together, it is great!

Google Drive iPhone App

The only thing that I don’t like about Google Drive is that there is not a true iPhone app for Google Drive. There are a few apps out there that allow you to use Google Drive on your iPhone, iPad or iPod, but not a good true Google Drive app. Of course there is an Android App, it’s Google. Google promises that an iPhone app is coming soon.

Google Drive Desktop App

Just like Dropbox, Google Drive has a desktop application that is very useful and convenient. Through a Word document into the drive folder and presto magic is automatically uploaded to your Google Drive. The drive application is available for Windows and Mac and works very well.

Google Drive – The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread

Like I said before, I had my doubts at first. But after using Google Drive for a couple of months, I have to say that Google hit the mark on this one. Something that I will be using for a long time to come.

Google Fresh and Site Owners

Google Fresh

Now that Google has released Fresh to search, how will it fare and what changes are you likely to see in your search ranking?

Chances are you will not even see a difference, but for some thirty percent of you that will notice a change; how are you going to react?

I have been preaching for the last five years how important content is and how content is king. I have told customers and bosses alike. Content Is King! And now Google likes fresh content. That  is basically what Google Fresh is all about. Fresh is the continuation of Google Caffine and expands on the ability for search to find and index pages faster than ever.

So how do you adapt to Google Fresh? Have fresh and interesting content updated on your site on a regular basis. Not to say that you have to post to your site everyday or even every week. Just regular intervals of interesting content, useful content, relevant content.

Do you think that making changes to search is a very rare occasion for Google? Well, not really… Google makes over five hundred changes per year to the way they index web pages and rank web sites.

My advice to webmasters and newbies is to update your site content on a regular basis with quality, relevant content. Participate in blogs, message boards and social media that promotes your niche.

What makes a landing page convert

When you click on a link from an ad on a news page wanting to give you a new Nintendo Wii if you will fill out this simple form. What on that page compels you to continue? Other than the fact that you will get a new gaming system? What is there on the page that makes you fill out those five text boxes?

Number of fields to fill out

The average web surfer that fills out these forms won’t fill out more that five blanks on a form. Makes me feel lazy thinking about that. This is varies from from to form. Business forms requesting official white papers, the average is slightly higher.

So what does that tell us? Keep the number of fields on a form to a minimum. Even in a business environment, keep them to a minimum. Think about the secretary that is trying to download a set of white papers on a new machine her boss wants to purchase. Get them the necessary papers with your name and company information at the footers of every page and your fill contact information in the front and the back of the set.

Having the right headline

Having the right headline is sometimes key to keeping the reader on the page for more than three seconds. The headline is sometimes the only chance of keeping the reader or having them bounce. Read more »

Take The Mystery Out of Screen Capture Video

Screencast video can be great…you just record what's on your computer screen. You don't have to worry about video cameras, lighting or even what you look like. And they can be just as powerful…sometimes even more powerful…than regular on-camera video.

But screencast video can also be confusing, intimidating and frustrating. For most people, their screencast videos come out looking fuzzy, distorted, hard to see, hard to hear…or…all of the above.

The good news is you don't need to worry about those things anymore. That's because I'm going to show you…step by step…exactly what you need to do to create dazzling, crystal-clear, great looking and great sounding screencast videos.

Included in the training are bonus tutorials on a very hot topic… HTML5 and mobile video. There is a dizzying amount of information out there on preparing and delivering your videos for mobile devices (and it seems to grow every day).
