What kind of grading system are you talking about! Every gym ive been to (ive pretty much been everywhere because i compete) uses the vermin grading system! The color tape means nothing opposed to the grade!

@homefriguy wow! since I wrote that comment ive gotten alot better at bouldering, V3s-V5s and Better at top roping those pesky 5.11s.

@pmurph5 same as me, but it varies, i can do some v3′s

@lopside0 agreed

None of these things are standard, and in fact I’ve never been to a gym that used a grading system anything like this. All the places I’ve been to simply use YDS and Hueco Tanks “Vermin” grading systems. This is sorta a stupid video.

I do 5.11s and v2. (as you can see, Im much better at top ropeing than bouldering.)

By thetree21220, May 29, 2010 @ 12:21 pm
decent sized holds on a V6? You need to boulder more dude
By thetree21220, May 29, 2010 @ 12:58 pm
On most routes past 5.6 indoors, your feet have to be on the colored tape as well. It should say at the bottom of the route. You don’t need to go in the order at all but it helps to see where you climb at.

There are some routes with numbers. I understand your hands have to be on them but your feet can use any holds. Also u do not need to go in order for the numbers. Anyone correct me on this?
